I have consulted on over 15 projects in California that have utilized the Natural Play infill. With the historic rainfall and massive flooding this region has received from November through March, I have gotten zero phone calls regarding any infill floating, migration, slipping or anything pertaining to the fields not performing at the highest level.
The infill did not move! The field did not move! Everything stayed right in place with no need for any repairs. I have consulted or built hundreds of fields utilizing natural or non SBR infills and have seen the downside to certain products, especially in heavy rain or flooding situations. NaturalCool is the BEST natural infill, overall, but especially when a field is prone to heavy rains and flooding.

It is critical to maintain an even and consistent infill level across the playing field. When the foot is raised in play it should return down the same distance no matter where it is on the surface. Divots and recessed infill areas common with granular type infills greatly contribute to lower extremity injuries.

A turf system with NaturalCool infill was subjected to 20K cycles on a Lisport machine, recognized in the industry to best simulate an 8 year life cycle of turf and infill. Turf Fiber - the low abrasion properties of NaturalCool result in minimal turf fiber wear for longer field life. NaturalCool – No significant breakdown of material composition of the infill sample, less than 2.3% average variance per sieve.

On average, 400,000 lbs. of rubber infill comes out of a standard size field for disposal at a specialized facility. With over 700 fields being replaced annually, that quickly adds up to over 3 million pounds of infill waste per year.
The same field would need only about 60,000 lbs. of NaturalCool and it never has to leave the site! NaturalCool is perfect for new field specifications calling for 100% end of life closed loop recyclability.

BIO SAFETY
Bio Safety is all about protecting humans and our environment from exposure to harmful metals, chemicals and compounds. Toxicology testing is now widely mandated to gauge the safety of the infill used for the design of artificial turf playing fields.
One of these very important tests is known as the PFAS (polyfluoroalkyl substances) test, designed to detect for PFC’s and several other Analytes, known as “Forever Chemicals”, that do not break down in the environment. Not one of these elements have been detected in NaturalCool.
